My name is James Gómez, and I am the founder and primary content writer of Spilt Ink. Here’s some helpful context to help us get connected.

• I was a pastor for 15 years in church plants and mega-churches.

• I served in multi-ethnic, urban, and affluent contexts in Atlanta, Austin, and San Antonio.

• In 2022, I was fed up with the hypocrisy, abuse, and dogma being peddled in the name of Jesus, so I left evangelicalism.

• It wasn’t until I left evangelicalism that my journey toward a more profound experience with God began.

As a recovering Christian and former evangelical, I hope to help others on a similar path. One of the greatest truths I’ve learned is that religion, like life, is a journey. I’d love to have you join me on this journey of living within the Christian tradition as a progressive, compassionate, and deeply spiritual person.
